

SUMMARY:
The Technical Consultant represents Axchem’s technical strength to our customers and is primarily responsible for developing solutions to customer challenges in the area(s) of their special expertise. The key to the success of a Technical Consultant is a commitment to excellence. Axchem strives to be the best in the industry at every application we provide. Collaboration with our Regional Sales and Innovation team is essential to ensure that our solutions maximize return on our customers’ investment. The duties will include problem-solving existing applications, auditing new potential opportunities, and providing ongoing support to ensure our programs remain efficient and effective. The Technical Consultant will continually refine and improve their special expertise and raise Axchem’s capabilities through training and project support.
LOCATION:
Home Office: The successful candidate will live near an airport and/or locations where assigned responsibilities are carried out.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, refine, and execute a technical market approach for Axchem in the area(s) of special expertise in coordination with Sales, Technical, Corporate Sales, and Product Management.
- Demonstrate leadership and credibility with customers and Axchem in the area(s) of special expertise by readily investigating, problem-solving, deploying resources, developing new resources, communicating, and leading the execution of solution approaches to customers or Axchem challenges.
- Improve Axchem’s capabilities and credibility in the area(s) of special expertise through training, resource development, consultation, coaching, and project development and leadership.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety through behavior, decision-making, and speaking up to colleagues and customers. Always comply with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset through curiosity, skill enhancement, a structured approach to improvement, and a desire to improve themselves and the world.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Science or equivalent field experience is required. Preferred degrees would be Pulp and Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology.
- At least five years of relevant experience, successful and progressive technical experience with a paper specialty chemical supplier (or similar), or engineering/technical experience with a pulp and paper company.
- Ability to develop and further customer relationships while utilizing technical skills in achieving Company sales objectives.
- Strong orientation to team development and the ability to work productively with other Axchem personnel and gain their cooperation and respect.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are a must.
- Confident, bright, articulate, innovative, highly motivated, and self-starter with a high energy level, team effort, cooperation spirit, and the highest integrity.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, as needed.
